Interesting composition doll. Shoulder plate head made of composition with big paper weight eyes, on fabric body with paper mache hands. The doll is wearing a very nice old wool coat, a wonderful bonnet made of fine silk and lace, very nice underwear and light blue needle point slippers.

A very beaudiful version of french shell doll, the doll was made in Germany by Kestner Waltershausen, composition head on articulated wooden body. Her dress is made card board which is covered by small shells, these used to be popular souvenier dolls made in normandy france, ca. 1840.

Condition: generally good and original condition, some tiny shells are missing.
