The entire arrangement is preserved on velvet covered base, no glass dome. Comments: circa 1850. Value Points: beautifully detailed peddler arrangement with myriad of details.

Paper mache shoulder head with formed bosom and elaborately sculpted hair having voluptuous arranged curls at each side of face centering an extended crown of hair, heart-shaped face with elongated strong throat, defined eye sockets, thin eyeliner encircling painted large blue eyes, arched brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth, slender cloth body with wooden lower arms, original fantastic gown.  Comments: Germany, circa 1840. Value Points: superb coiffure is enhanced by large so-called "milliner's model by Waltershausen Kestner.

Very interesting pair of Shell Dolls, both have simple wooden bodies wich are completely covered by small shells which are shaping their folk style clothing, both have wonderful paper mache heads with fine features. Both have the typical attribution of the Normandie style fisher looks, both holding baskets. France. 1850. Rare condition and unusual size.

A very beaudiful version of french shell doll, the doll was made in Germany by Kestner Waltershausen, composition head on articulated wooden body. Her dress is made card board which is covered by small shells, these used to be popular souvenier dolls made in normandy france, ca. 1840.
